23 May 2010

I prepared classic Southern vegetable fare for tonight's Sunday Supper. It was a beautiful day for dining on the side porch amidst the blooming hydrangeas. Jeff and Cory joined me for dinner, and Jeff made his infamous Georgia pecan pie for dessert. I cooked a pot of pinto beans with ham hocks and served with my mother's Southern chow chow. All in all, a graceful and comforting supper with great friends! Another hectic begins tomorrow.

The Menu:

- Fried Okra

- Pinto Beans with Ham Hocks and Franny Betty's Southern Chow Chow

- Husk Baked Sweet Corn on the Cob

- Collard Greens with Pepper Vinegar

- Iron Skillet Cornbread

- Georgia Pecan Pie
