17 February 2008

Well, this is the last meal before Jim returns, so you got a bonus post this weekend! I have been a cleaning fool this weekend and decided to tackle the home office room. As many on you may know, this front room in our house has become clutter central. We have been meaning to furnish it for an office, but we just put it off. I bought shelving units for the closet, got all of the boxes sorted and out of the floor and even hooked up our new HP printer that we bought last year! It is even working now, so we can print at home again. I began this project yesterday and started back first thing this morning – right after a venti latte from Starbucks and the NY Times! I just paused around 6:30 when the storms started moving into the area. When I slowed down, I realized I had only had some yogurt and granola to eat all day long. So, tonight's Sunday Supper was special: Breakfast for Dinner night! I grilled a bone-in pork chop, scrambled some eggs and invented one small dish: brulée of caved aged gouda cheese grits! Yummy, if I say so myself! Jim's flight is delayed, so I had a nice breakfast around 8 p.m.

The menu:

"Breakfast for Supper"

- Organic local bone-in pork chop

- Brulée of cave-aged gouda cheese grits

- Scrambled eggs

- Buttermilk bisquits
