The Golden Globe awards are on tonight, and I am a sucker for award shows! The snow is finally melting, but it has taken a week. Last week, I saw a post from my Facebook friend and doyenne of Southern cooking, Nathalie Dupree. She stated that she was cooking a pot of Country Captain, so I did a bit of research and decided to cook it for tonight's Sunday Supper. I met Nathalie last March in Charleston, and she was gracious enough to have a photo made with her. Country Captain is a chicken curry casserole and was a staple of many Junior League cookbooks. I based mine off of a recipe by the Lee brothers. I love their Southern cooking and have included a link to the recipe. The dish was wonderful and perfect for a cold winter night. Thanks for the inspiration Nathalie! Now, on to the Golden Globes!
Hope everyone has a great week!
The Menu:
- Country Captain with Brown Rice
- Caramel Sea Salt Gelato
