Today is Easter Sunday. Jim and I are still recovering from a fun night out on Friday with Matt and Millie. We went into Atlanta to see
Robinella at
Eddie's Attic. She is an amazing singer songwriter that is a cross between Billie Holiday and Dolly Parton. Southern and amazing from start to finish! We had a blast but went out afterwards and did not get home until around 3 a.m. So, Easter has been a slow day, but that's not a bad thing I suppose. Easter weekend has always been a little odd for me, especially as a child. I don't know what it is, but it centers around guilt I guess. After all, Jesus died for our sins, and I remember all of the movies that came on about the crucifixion and
resurrection. Upon retrospect, I really don't think it was appropriate subject matter for small children. Oh well, as an adult, I'm just left with
Jesus and Gravity...
So, I am cooking an Easter Sunday Supper tonight. Here's a photo of me and my siblings one Easter long ago. Sad tohttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif
realize there are only three of us left and no resurrections to celebrate. But alas, the skin on my roasted chicken was extremely crispy, and that's all I need right now!
The menu:
- Extra Crispy Roasted Organic Chicken
- Roasted Fingerling Potatoes With Garlic and Fresh Rosemary
- Baby Carrots and Fresh Sweet Peas
- Salt and Pepper Cream Biscuits
- Homemade Key Lime Pie
Happy Easter Everyone!
